Troy Wakefield
Troy is in his 16th season guiding at Pheasant Bonanza. Since he grew up on his family farm, it was easy for him to get accustomed to the outdoors. Sports, 4-H, and hunting were the pastimes of his choice. He would hunt fields, fence lines and waterways without dogs at that time.
His decision to use German Shorthair Pointers enhanced the hunting experience and provided a desire to train them and control the hunt. “Watching the dogs work never gets old,” said Troy, “I am a general contractor and guiding gives me a break from the everyday grind. I also enjoy the family-type atmosphere at Pheasant Bonanza.”
