Our Dogs in Heaven

Losing a member of our Guide Dog Team is losing a member of our family. Our lost canine friends are honored and never forgotten.

Duke

Duke (8.8.11 – 12.6.22) would be in the Pheasant Bonanza Hall of Fame, if we create one. Duke was one of the most famous, notorious, phenomenal dogs we had. He went into the KAMO program in December 2021 and lived just one year in retirement, but it was a GREAT year of living with furry siblings and lazing about on couches. Duke is dearly missed by the PB Team and his family he was blessed with during retirement.

CAMO MH

Camo (2.21.16 – 9.28.20) was a Master Hunter who an amazing drive along with intensity, athleticism, and desire. He always gave his all and showed up to work with the best attitude.

Tres

Tres (12/25/13 – 2022) was a phenomenal guide dog and a phenomenal German Shorthair Pointer stud. He had a very strong work ethic and his retrieving was excellent. He sired exceptional pups and he proved his abilities time after time in competition.

Duece & Benelli

Duece & Benelli were Trent and Katie’s first dogs together as a married couple. They were their “kids” before they had their kids. Duece was Trent’s best hunting partner and was a one-of-a-kind dog. To commemorate him, Trent named their lodge after him.

Rommel

Rommel (5.14.17 – February 2022) was a true warrior in the field. He had a hard prey drive and was constantly outworking and out retrieving the majority of the other dogs. He went to heaven in February 2022. He will be truly missed by all of our guides and the other dogs.

Oakley

Pheasant Bonanza & Ron Cornwell’s Oakley had a puppy personality that she kept her whole life. The minute we opened up the kennel, she ran out and kept running for about a half a mile and came back, ready for work. To say she was full of energy is an understatement. She is missed by all of the Team Pheasant Bonanza.

Abby

Abby was a hard working GSP who never gave up. She was a great pointer, hunter, and friend. Abby was a hard loss to the Pheasant Bonanza Guide Dog Team.

Blaze

Blaze (11.4.13 – 7.16.20) was a great mother and hunter and her best friend was PB employee, Nate Sears. “She was incredible, Nate said, “she found me a lot of birds, she kept me company, she made me smile, and she didn’t need a whistle or an E-collar. I am going to miss her a lot but I’m thankful for the time I had with her.”
