Executive Chef / Kitchen Manager

Location: Tekamah, Nebraska
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Overview

The Executive Chef / Kitchen Manager leads the food and beverage operation at Pheasant Bonanza, creating exceptional dining experiences for members and guests. This hands-on leadership role combines culinary creativity, hospitality, organization, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and guest service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all food and beverage operations
  • Prepare breakfast, lunch, appetizers, and dinner for lodge guests
  • Develop menus and maintain food quality standards
  • Manage food and beverage inventory and budgets
  • Supervise and support kitchen and food service staff
  • Schedule bartenders, breakfast staff, and dishwashers during hunting season
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen, bar, and storage areas
  • Assist with hiring and training seasonal food and beverage staff
  • Step in wherever needed to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications

  • Experience in culinary arts, hospitality, restaurant management, or bartending preferred
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and cleanliness standards
  • Self-motivated with a hands-on approach to daily operations
  • Ability to multitask and work flexible hours, including most weekends during hunting season
  • Experience cooking wild game and an interest in hunting, dogs, or lodge-style hospitality is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary: $45,000–$67,000, based on experience

Operations Manager & Guide

Location: Tekamah, Nebraska
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Overview
The Operations Manager & Guide plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of Pheasant Bonanza, supporting everything from facility maintenance and land management to guest experience and guided hunts. This position combines hands-on outdoor work with customer interaction and operational oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations, grounds, and facility upkeep
  • Perform maintenance on buildings, equipment, and property
  • Assist with land management, farming, and bird operations
  • Prepare and guide upland, waterfowl, turkey, and deer hunts
  • Support guest experience including check-in, scheduling, and airport pickups
  • Assist with events, leagues, and corporate outings
  • Manage inventory and assist with pro shop and office operations
  • Maintain safety standards in the field and across all activities

Qualifications

  • Experience in hunting, shooting sports, or outdoor operations preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on work
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round and on weekends/holidays
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Shooting Sports Manager & Guide

Location: Tekamah, Nebraska
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Overview
The Shooting Sports Manager & Guide oversees all shooting sports operations at Pheasant Bonanza, ensuring a safe, well-maintained, and high-quality experience for members and guests. This role manages the sporting clays course, 5-stand, trap, skeet, and rifle and pistol ranges while also supporting guided hunts and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of all shooting sports facilities
  • Maintain and repair range equipment and target systems
  • Oversee scheduling of leagues, events, and shooting activities
  • Provide instruction or coordinate lessons for shooters
  • Prepare and guide upland, waterfowl, turkey, and deer hunts
  • Manage inventory for targets and shooting operations
  • Ensure all safety protocols and range standards are followed
  • Support events, corporate outings, and member engagement

Qualifications

  • Experience with clay shooting disciplines preferred
  • Knowledge of range equipment and shooting operations is a plus
  • Strong leadership and customer service skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on work capability
  • Ability to organize events and manage small teams
  • Willingness to work outdoors year-round and on weekends
